Mystery Box Competitions – One-hour long Mystery Box Competitions are the highlight of the live competitions at the Show. Up to 8 competitors battle in each of the 3 first rounds for a spot in the finale. Competitors are given a box of specific tools and/or ingredients that must be used in their piece. These fun and lively contests are emceed and judged by a panel of celebrity cake decorators. There are separate sponsorships available for each first round competition as well as a sponsorship opportunity for the finale. The sponsor is responsible for providing the Mystery Box contents (9 sets total). Each competitor gets to keep the tools and ingredients from the box. The extra set is used by the emcees to talk about the contents and then it is given to a winner chosen from the audience. The value of the contents should be a minimum of $50 per box and should contain a mix of tools and ingredients so that competitors have something to take away with them. (For example: a set of cutters or molds, a mix of ingredients such as fondant, buttercream, modeling chocolate, etc., and some pre-made decorations. We provide the basics: cake(s), boards, icing, tools, turntable, etc. and there is a “pantry” for other decorating tools and ingredients as well.) Additionally, the sponsor for each round will provide $250 in cash that will be part of the $1000 prize for the winner of the Mystery Box Competition Finale. Sponsor name and logo will be included with promotional materials about the competition on the Show website and the show schedule online and in print, included in press releases and social media posts and displayed on signage in the Stage Area during the Mystery Box Competitions. Hands-On Micro-Classes – The 45 minute, hands-on Micro-Classes are a popular part of the Show. During these classes for up to 60 people the instructors demonstrated ingredients, techniques and/or tools. These classes are conducted from the main stage area and while there is a limit of 60 persons who can participate in the hands-on class, other attendees can watch and hear the presentation as well. This is a great opportunity to teach attendees about a particular product, ingredient or tool. The Sponsor is responsible for providing all of the materials and tools necessary for the hands-on class for 60 participants as well as providing the instructor for the class. Volunteers will be available to assist with set-up and clean-up. Printed materials can be distributed to class participants as well as the general audience. Admission will be charged for attendees to participate and proceeds benefit the Capital Confectioners Cake Club. Contact Jennifer for more details. 5 Micro-Classes will be held throughout the weekend.
Reusable Bag Sponsor – While the venue is in Round Rock and not subject to these rules, Austin has had a ban on single use bags for several years and in an effort to be more environmentally conscious, we are seeking a sponsor to provide re- usable bags that will be given to attendees (approximately 5000). Attendees will be walking around the Show floor with the bag and will be able to keep the bag for future use. The Bag Sponsor will provide the printed bags for distribution at the Show entrance.
Swag Bag Sponsor/Donor – Competitors each receive a swag bag full of information, samples, tools, ingredients, coupons and more as part of their participation in the competition. This is a great way to get product into the hands of actual cake decorators. The donation is 350 items for inclusion in the competitor swag bags and any extra items are used as thank-you gifts for volunteers.
Raffle Prize Donor – Raffle tickets are sold during the event for the many raffle prizes that are prominently on display during the event.
