Vendor Application Form

We are currently accepting applications for potential vendors for the 2017 show.  

Show Information: 2017 marks the 13th annual Cake Show and Competition hosted by the Capital Confectioners Cake Club in Austin, TX.  In that time, That Takes the Cake has grown into being one of the largest shows in the country.  In 2016 there were 52 vendors, 310 competitors who brought almost 500 Divisional Competition, Showcake Competition and Tasting Competition entries.  There were over 4,000 attendees throughout the weekend-long event.  The theme for the 2017 Show and Showcake Competition is Cake and Old Lace – all things vintage.  Showcake competitors will be challenged to interpret vintage in sugar – we are sure to see antique cars, fashion from other eras and maybe even old-school cake designs.  During the weekend, attendees view the works of sugar art, learn new techniques in the mini-classes, watch on-site live decorating competitions and demonstrations and of course shop from vendors.

Venue Information: The Round Rock Sports Center is a multi-purpose facility that is owned by the City of Round Rock just north of Austin.  It is located right off of IH-35 – the major north south highway and is easily accessible from all directions.  The facility is 50,000 sq ft of contiguous space – providing space for the vendors, mini-classes, demonstration/competition area as well as the display of the cakes all in one open space.  There is plenty of free parking and access for vendors and competitors is ground level and directly into the facility.  The location in Round Rock is north of Austin and is very close to major hotels, a variety of restaurants and shopping.

Setup Hours:

Friday, February 24 – 2 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturday, Feb 25 – 7 am to 10 am

Public Hours:

Saturday, February 25 – 10:00 am to 11:00 am VIP Shopping and General Admission 11:00 am to 7 pm

Sunday, February 26 – 10 am to 11 am VIP Shopping and General Admission 11 am to 5 pm

Move-Out:

Sunday, February 22 – 5 pm – 8 pm

Booths: Each vendor booth consists of one 10’ x 10’ booth space and includes two 6’ draped tables with 2 chairs, electricity, booth sign, 8’ tall pipe and drape at the back of the booth, 3’ tall pipe and drape side separations and Wi-Fi. The fee for the vendor booth is $600 for the weekend.  Vendor registration includes access to the hospitality lounge with continental breakfast items, light lunch and snacks each day.  Booths will be assigned by the Show Committee based on vendor application and booth payment receipt date as well as product type to insure a good flow for the Show layout.  Booth placement priority is first given to sponsors and prior vendors.  Additional tables can be rented for $25 each and there is no charge for extra chairs.  Vendors are encouraged to conduct demonstrations of their products in their booths – it is of interest to the attendees and attracts visitors to the booth.
