  1. Does the theme apply to the entire competition (e.g. wedding tiered cakes)?

    No. The show theme ONLY applies to the showcake category.

  2. Where is the Cake Show being held?

  3. How much will it cost to attend?

    If you purchase tickets online by February 19, 2012, General Admission is $8 for either Saturday or Sunday and $15 for the whole weekend. At the door, General Admission is $10 for either Saturday or Sunday and $18 for the whole weekend. Children under 18 get General Admission access for FREE!  If you bring a canned food donation for the Capital Area Food Bank, you can save $1 off the at-the-door General Admission price.

  4. Will there be any events for children?

    Yes! Children are encouraged to enter the cake competition. There will be also be hands-on activities during the show that will include a cookie or cupcake and the necessary supplies to decorate them for a small fee of $1. Check the Main Schedule for kid activity hours.

  5. I’m coming from out of town, where should I stay?

    Crowne Plaza Hotel!  Instructions for booking reservations with our group rate are here.

  6. The Rules seem to indicate that Sculpted Cakes must be 100% cake. Does that mean I can’t use cereal or internal structure?

    Not at all. You may use cereal, internal structure & modeling chocolate, however, the majority of your entry must be made from cake.

  7. Where can I get additional information or who can I contact if I have questions?

  8. What is your refund policy?

    If you withdraw from a class or a demonstration on or before January 1, 2012, your paid tuition less a $25 administration fee will be issued. There will be no refunds for cancellations of any purchases after January 1, 2012. Classes are transferable – please notify us if there is a change. Competition entry fees are non-refundable at any time.The Show organizers reserve the right to cancel classes or demonstrations. If a class or demonstration is canceled, you have the option to transfer to another event or receive a full refund. In the event that a scheduled demonstrator is unable to conduct their demonstration, the Show organizers reserve the right to substitute another qualified demonstrator and there will be no refunds of registration fees. All remedies under this refund policy are limited to the language of refund policy.
