Dawn Parrott a certified Pastry Chef and accomplished award winning cake designer living in Houston TX. Her inspiration came at a young age when she watched her dad make incredible cakes for family and friends. Many years later and mostly self-taught, Dawn has won awards around the country and continues to practice and teach the craft as she knows it.
As an instructor at Culinary Institute LeNotre, Dawn taught students the art of cakes in special occasion and wedding cakes. During their time with her, they were also taught chocolate, sugar, gumpaste, fondant, royal icing and buttercream techniques in each 10 week session.
In 2010 Dawn has earned the title as master sugar artist and in September 2013 placed 1st runner-up at the Tulsa Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show (OSSAS) in the Wedding division. Chef Dawn is often asked to demonstrate, compete, and teach her craft around the country.
Her award winning designs have been featured numerous times in different cake, baking magazines and books across the US and Internationally. Dawn has appeared on television; assisting on The Food Network Challenge in 2009 and 2010; Episodes; Paranormal Cakes and Stand Up Comedy Cakes.
Currently, Dawn is one of a handful of instructors travelling around the country teaching classes with Cake Central. In these classes, students are learning various techniques with many sugar mediums.
