I have always been grateful to my friend who suggested I take a cake decorating class many years ago. It wasn’t long after I started taking a variety of classes that I attended my first ICES convention. I saw the sugar flowers displayed and I couldn’t wait to learn how to make them. I took my first gumpaste classes from Nicholas Lodge, and then from a couple of Alan Dunns books I continued learning with a lot of practice. It became my passion and as much as I love to decorate I love to make flowers more. I started to find my own techniques and style then began modeling the life like flowers I love to make from fresh ones.
I have been involved in my local cake club and enter the San Diego cake show where I have won Best of Show and First Place for sugar flowers. I demo, teach, and write tutorials for my blog and recently been featured in Edible Artists Network Magazine and Cake Design France. And I have a photo tutorial with SugarEd Productions.
