Mystery Box Competitions

One-hour long Mystery Box Competitions are the highlight of the live competitions at the Show.  Competitors are given a box of specific tools and/or ingredients that must be used in their piece.  These fun and lively contests are emceed and judged by a panel of celebrity cake decorators.  There are separate sponsorships available for each competition.  The sponsor is responsible for providing the Mystery Box contents (7 sets total).  Each competitor gets to keep the tools and ingredients from the box.  The extra set is used by the emcees to talk about the contents and then it is given to a winner chosen from the audience.  The value of the contents should be a minimum of $50 per box and should contain a mix of tools and ingredients so that competitors have something to take away with them. (For example:  a set of cutters or molds, a mix of ingredients such as fondant, buttercream, modeling chocolate, etc., and some pre-made decorations.)  We provide the basics: cake(s), cookie(s), boards, icing, tools, turntable, etc. and there is a “pantry” for other decorating tools and ingredients as well.  Additionally, the sponsor will provide $250 for prizes.  Sponsor name and logo will be included with promotional materials about the competition on the Show website and the Show schedule online and in print, included in press releases and social media posts, and displayed on signage in the Stage Area during the Mystery Box Competitions.

Sponsorship amount:  Cash – $250 – plus Mystery Box contents.  Three sponsorships available.

Hands-On Micro-Classes

These 45-minute, hands-on Micro-Classes are a popular part of the Show.  During these classes, for up to 60 people, the instructors demonstrate ingredients, techniques, and/or tools.  These classes are conducted from the main stage area and while there is a limit of 60 persons who can participate in the hands-on class, other attendees can watch and hear the presentation as well.  This is a great opportunity to teach attendees about a particular product, ingredient, or tool.  The Sponsor is responsible for providing all of the materials and tools necessary for the hands-on class for 60 participants, as well as providing the instructor for the class.  Volunteers will be available to assist with set-up and clean-up. Printed materials can be distributed to class participants, as well as the general audience.  Admission will be charged for attendees to participate and proceeds benefit the Capital Confectioners Cake Club.  Contact Kyla Myers for more details.  3 Micro-Classes will be held throughout the weekend.

Raffle Prize Donor

Raffle tickets are sold throughout the event for the many raffle prizes that are prominently on display during the event.  This is a major fundraising program for the Show and is also a way to showcase products and your support of the event.  Each raffle prize has a minimum value of $100 with some going up to values of $1000 and more.
